Review: To All the Boys I've Loved Before

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #1)

To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Rating: 4.7 stars

I'm not very good at summaries, but I'll give it a go at this one :)
So Lara Jean writes letters to boys she's crushed on before, addresses them, but she never mails them out. She writes the things that made her fall in love with the boy. These letters are a way for her to release all her emotions and when she's done she places them in a hat. Until one day her letters get sent out to the boys she has written them to and things get a little crazy.

My thoughts: Have you ever found yourself in a book? Like, you realize something about yourself that you didn't know before or while reading you find an explanation for something that you believe or do? I'm not sure how much that makes sense, but it totally happened to me with this book. Other than the cuteness of this book, I really enjoyed this book because I related to the Lara Jean so well. In a way, I was practically her.

I've never read anything by Jenny Han, but I have heard good things about The Summer I Turned Pretty books. I was a little skeptical about reading this book because I bought it without really knowing what it was about and when I started reading it, I didn't know what direction the story was going to go in, but it was a fun story and it was exactly what I needed after finishing City of Heavenly Fire.

I thought that the plot line was a bit predictable and I knew what was going to end up happening, but that did not stop me from totally enjoying the story and getting all excited about cute little moments that were going on.

I loved how her family was incorporated into this book and I loved hearing from her sisters. It made made me think of me and my sisters and it was just so relatable. I also liked how Lara Jean was half Korean because it made for a more interesting story.

This book did have a few flaws and for me they were mostly character wise. Honestly, I was constantly kind of mad at Lara Jean for some things that she did and she was a bit irratating for a while and so was the main love interest, but they turned out better at the end.

This book had so many LOL's like Harry Potter references which made this book 10 times better and funnier because lets be honest, who doesn't like Harry Potter? Props to Jenny Han!
No! And how could you stop after Chamber of Secrets? The third one's the best out of the whole series...Do you not have a soul?

I love this book oh so much. It caused me to smile, giggle, and made me all giddy inside. It's definitely one of my favorite contemporaries {way up there with Anna and the French Kiss}. I can't wait for the sequel to come out in May because that ending was just ahhhhhhh

Most Anticipated Books of 2015

These are a few books that I can't wait to come out in 2015! I know I'm a month late on this post, but here it is now...

*I'm really bad at writing summaries so just click the titles and they should take you to the goodreads so you can view the summary :)
Things We Know by Heart by Jessi Kirby: set to release April 21, 2015
I've never read anything by Jessi Kirby, but I heard her other books are good and this one is her best work yet. I know this book will be a tear jerker, but will bring joy at the same time and I can't wait.
Here's the review that got me super excited about this book: Reading after midnight

P.S. I Still Love You  by Jenny Han: set to release May 26, 2015
This is the sequel to the first book, To All the Boys I've Loved Before, which I will be reviewing soon so I won't say too much on it right now, but I want this book so bad!!!

Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee: set to release July 14, 2015
This was my reaction when I found out about this:

You guys don't even know how excited I am about this! To Kill a Mockingbird is my favorite classic and I freaking adore Scout! I can't wait to see how she is as a woman and to see the different trials she will be facing.

*in Scout's voice* Atticus, Atticus!

^^I can't even.

The Fifth Wave #3 by Rick Yancey: set to release August 2015
This book still has no title, but it's the third and final book in The 5th Wave trilogy and I want this book now! Actually I wanted it back in September. I love this series and I think Rick Yancey is an amazing writer! He's really good at making you feel like you actually know the characters and also making you second guess yourself. That man has been blessed with metaphor skills. I just want to know how everything is going to play out in the end, but I'm also scared because Rick Yancey sure knows how to tear my heart out and he is one of those author's who can kill off every character.

Note: The following is just a rant.
Lady Midnight (The Dark Artifices): This is the first book in Cassandra Clare's new series called The Dark Artifices. If you don't know, Cassandra Clare is one of my favorite authors and I wanted this book really bad because I loved Emma and Jules in CoHF and I just want to go back into the Shadowhunter world. This was originally set to release in Fall 2015, but they pushed it to March 2016 and I was soooo mad about it. I am still not over it.

What books are you most anticipating for 2015?
